Over the next 3 years, Motorola will have a prominent presence on and around Belgian football fields. The smartphone manufacturer has signed a 3-year agreement with the Belgian Pro League and Eleven Sports. This partnership will not only showcase Motorola in Belgian football stadiums but also online and during live broadcasts on the Eleven Pro League channels.
Ruben Weenink, General Manager of the Mobile Business Group of Lenovo in the Benelux, stated, "We are extremely pleased to now call ourselves the official sponsor of the Pro League. For Motorola, this is a great opportunity, and we look forward to working with the Pro League and Eleven Sports in the next 3 years. As in everything we do, we are very passionate about this. We hope to show that we are pioneers in technology but also stand for a positive, inclusive, and innovative world."
The Pro League organizes the most popular sports competition in Belgium, offering opportunities for companies to showcase their products to a broad audience.
Leander Monbaliu, Chief Business Officer of the Pro League, said, "Motorola stands for quality, authenticity, and innovation. These are values that we, as the Pro League, also prioritize. We are, therefore, very pleased to welcome Motorola as a new partner, along with Eleven Sports."
The sponsorship of the Pro League is part of a larger strategy. Motorola has been working to expand its market share in Belgium for some time. This sponsorship deal aims to raise Motorola's profile among the general public even further.
Ruben Weenink stated, "In recent years, we have invested significantly in our smartphones, and you can see the growth we have achieved in Belgium. We are now present in every category. With the moto e and moto g series, we offer reliable budget phones and mid-rangers. Our innovative Motorola edge series and Razr are targeting the high-end segment. Now, we want to invest even more in our brand awareness. We feel that there is still room for growth, especially among consumers aged between 20 and 40. This sponsorship deal fits into that strategy."
Thanks to the deal, Motorola will also become the exclusive sponsor of the online format 'Shot of the week by Motorola.' This format is shared every week on the social media platforms of Eleven Sports and the Pro League. In the 'Motorola Shot of the Week,' a significant image from the past matchday is chosen and shared.
Guillaume Collard, CEO of Eleven Sports Belgium and Luxembourg, commented, "With a nearly 16% increase in viewership compared to last year - on Matchday 20, a record viewership of 1 million was even recorded - the Eleven Pro League channels provide a unique showcase for potential advertisers. When a global player like Motorola shows interest, it definitely indicates the opportunities that Belgian football offers. The three-year partnership also reflects Motorola's belief in the Eleven Sports project 'Home of Belgian Football.'"
