Since their collaboration began in late 2017, Van der Poel's triumphs aboard Canyon bikes have been nothing short of remarkable, amassing an impressive tally of 163 victories. Just days after assisting his teammate, Jasper Philipsen, to victory in Milano-Sanremo, Van der Poel expressed his excitement about the future, citing ambitions that include the upcoming Paris Olympics.

In his own words, Van der Poel stated, “Canyon has been an incredible partner. We have developed bikes that have helped me succeed in Classics, World Championships, and Grand Tours. But I’m still incredibly hungry for success. There are several milestones on my radar, including the Paris Olympics this summer.”

This monumental agreement not only secures Van der Poel's allegiance to Canyon but also extends the partnership between Canyon and Alpecin-Deceuninck. The management of Alpecin-Deceuninck, Philip and Christoph Roodhooft, expressed their enthusiasm for the extended partnership, emphasizing their vision of creating a multi-disciplinary team comprised of the most talented riders in the world. To further solidify his future in professional cycling, Van der Poel has also prolonged his contract with Alpecin-Deceuninck until 2028, affirming his dedication to the team and its objectives.

With this monumental deal now inked, Van der Poel's sights are set on the Belgian classics, including E3 and Gent-Wevelgem, followed by the Spring Monuments, culminating in the Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix, Amstel Gold, and Liege-Bastogne-Liege.
