Global sports streaming platform DAZN has announced a significant expansion of its football coverage by securing the rights to broadcast Italy's top-tier football league, Serie A, in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States for the 2025/26 season. This move marks an important step in DAZN's strategy to enhance its global football portfolio and reach a broader audience.
In the UK and Ireland, DAZN will stream every Serie A Championship match, offering exclusive rights to up to eight matches per round, with two additional matches available on a non-exclusive basis. This arrangement will result in over 300 matches being broadcast live in full throughout the season. However, matches falling within the traditional Saturday 3 pm blackout window in the UK and Ireland cannot be shown live in full due to existing broadcasting regulations.
For viewers in the United States, including U.S. territories and the Caribbean, DAZN has acquired the rights to broadcast every Serie A match in Spanish. The deal includes five exclusive matches per round and five non-exclusive matches, all tailored to maximize access for Latino audiences.
Beyond live match coverage, DAZN has secured highlight rights for the Serie A Championship, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana across nearly every country worldwide, excluding only Italy, the Republic of San Marino, Vatican City, and the MENA region. Highlights will be available at least one hour after the final whistle, with two or three-minute packages per match, depending on the territory.
This acquisition aligns with DAZN's broader strategy to expand its presence in premium football properties. The announcement comes as DAZN continues its global broadcast of all 63 matches of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, further solidifying its position as a leading sports streaming platform.
Pete Oliver, CEO of Growth Markets at DAZN, commented on the deal:
“The Serie A is one of the most storied and technically brilliant leagues in world football. Our partnership with the league has continued to grow stronger, particularly since DAZN became the main domestic broadcaster of the Serie A Championship starting with the 2021/22 season. This agreement reinforces DAZN’s position as the global home of football, expanding our footprint in Europe and the Americas and giving fans unrivalled access to Italian football.”
With this new agreement, DAZN not only enhances its football credentials globally but also provides fans with unprecedented access to Italian football, catering to the growing demand for diverse and comprehensive sports content.
